Over 700 business and community leaders gathered at the Hyatt Regency Denver at Colorado Convention Center on July 26th to attend the Downtown Denver Partnership’s 52nd Annual Meeting. The agenda included the announcement of new board leadership, the distribution of several awards, and a review of the Partnership’s accomplishments and goals.
2007 Award Winners
In recognition of the role of volunteers in the Downtown Denver business community, the Partnership selected the following individuals:
The Honorary Partner Award was given to Barry Benware, Global Pacific Properties, Inc., for his significant contribution over a period of ten years to the Downtown Denver Partnership. Benware has served on 15 of the Partnership’s boards and councils in the last decade, assuming leadership roles on many.
For his leadership on the Partnership’s Membership Committee, and his service on the 2007 Downtown Area Plan Steering Committee. 
Don Hunt, The Antero Group:
For serving on numerous Partnership committees, councils and boards, and most recently as Co-Chair of the Partnership’s “Revitalizing the Core Task Force” which is aggressively seeking to improve the environment of the core blocks of Downtown Denver.
Sarah Krause, Northern Trust Bank:
For her leadership on the Partnership’s Membership Committee, helping the organization reach its best year ever in new member recruitment.
Greg Vartanyan, IronStone Bank:
For his work as Co-Chair of the Partnership’s Transportation Council, and his dedication educating the Downtown community on the importance of the FasTracks ballot initiative.
2007 Downtown Area Plan Steering Committee:
For synthesizing two years of work into a thoughtful and strategic 20 year vision for Downtown’s growth which was adopted by City Council on July 9th, 2007.
