Important Information for Prospective Vendors

remember to consult the Cart Design Standards and get BID approval before building or buying!

 

Application Process:

1) Complete an Application for Vending Permit and return to the Downtown Denver Business Improvement District with $25 non-refundable fee. (checks made payable to Downtown Denver Business Improvement District)

2) All applications are reviewed by a Mall Use Committee on a monthly basis.

3) Upon approval by the Committee, you will be notified, and your name will be placed on a waiting list.

4) Once a space on the 16th St. Mall becomes available, you will be notified and can begin the placement process.

 

Placement Process:

1) A BID representative will contact you when a space is available and your name is up on the waiting list.

2) The BID representative will make an appointment with you to discuss location, product, and cart design. note: final approval from a BID representative is required for all carts on the Mall. Do not build or buy a cart until you obtain approval from the BID.

3) Upon location decision and final cart design approval, you will sign a lease and pay a $150 deposit reserving the chosen location for 30 days.

4) After 30 days you must take possession of your designated location and sign a permit allowing for use of that space for one year.

 

Requirements for Issuance of Permit:

1) Certificate of Insurance - general liability insurance is required with a minimum coverage of $300,000.00. The certificate must name the Downtown Denver Business Improvement District and the City & County of Denver as additionally insured.

2) State and City Business Tax Licenses.

3) Stand Up Restaurant License (if applicable).

4) Fire Department Permit (for propane).

5) Cart Design Approval.
