Witness the magic of Downtown Denver: starting with this year's Grand Illumination on Friday, November 28. Beautiful lighting displays will be at the City and County Building, Larimer Square, Denver Pavilions, Union Station, Skyline Park, the 16th Street Mall and the historic D&F Tower. Downtown's unique holiday atmosphere is sure to get you in the holiday spirit.
Lighting events throughout the evening include:
Beginning at 6:00 p.m.
special programming will include:
- costumed Yuletide carolers
- a Children’s Museum craft table
- a special viewing of the model train
- delicious treats provided by LoDo restaurants
- a visit from Dinger Claus (the Colorado Rockies Mascot decked out in holiday uniform)
- and much more!
Following a countdown shortly after 6:30 p.m., Union Station will be ablaze with floodlights illuminating the historic structure in the heart of Lower Downtown and its lighted tree in front.

- a 22 foot tall Christmas tree complete with LED lights choreographed to 8 different holiday songs
- Denver’s historic D & F Tower will be illuminated with holiday lights as well
More than 400,000 energy efficient LED lights will turn the 16th Street Mall and Curtis Streets between 14th and 16th into an enchanting holiday promenade. Giant holiday snowflakes will also be hung along California and Curtis Streets.
Denver's historic 116-year-old luxury hotel will be adorned with elegant holiday decor all season long, but on Nov. 28th at 6 p.m., you will be able to see it come to life, LIVE as the lighting of the grand chandelier illuminates the atrium! Over 100,000 LED lights will grace The Brown Palace Hotel and Spa. Enjoy decorating holiday cookies with the kids and Santa Claus himself will be on hand to hear your wishes, 6-7 p.m.
Two of Downtown Denver’s major retail destinations, Larimer Square and the Denver Pavilions, will also be illuminated with festive décor on this night and throughout the holiday season. Unique holiday entertainment and special events will take place separately at each destination.
