RedPeak Properties for 1600 Glenarm Place

Success is often sweeter with struggle - and 1600 Glenarm Place represents a decade long struggle to infuse a 40 year old building with life. Originally constructed in 1964 as the Security Life Building, this property was Denver’s first high-rise office property. As a result of recession and challenging redevelopment plans, the building sat vacant until the tenacity, resolve and vision of RedPeak Properties intervened.

Conversion of the property to something attractive and habitable would not come easily. Adaptive re-use of the existing structure meant working within the confines of an existing structure, replacing and upgrading all building systems and ensuring a 1960’s building met today’s stringent building codes.

Ultimately, $82 million in RedPeak Properties’ private investment initiatives resulted in a unique luxury apartment offering in the center of the Central Business District. Today, 1600 Glenarm Place contains 333 apartments and 20 penthouses with unique layouts, high-end appliances, and modern yet simple interior finishes. The eclectic set of residents enjoy valet parking, a 24-hour concierge service, housekeeping, dry cleaning service and access to new amenities that have also chosen to make 1600 Glenarm Place their home, thanks to the commitment of RedPeak Properties to ensure that the retail mix complemented the residential community.

With the ambiance of a downtown New York market, Cook’s Fresh Market, owned and operated by Ed and Kristin Janos, is a premier, gourmet grocer offering a full bakery, a large selection of prepared foods, fresh produce, fine cheeses, pastries and gourmet products. Peet’s Coffee also chose to open their second Denver location immediately next door to Cook’s. The adjacent Earl’s Restaurant will provide another high quality dining experience in Downtown, as well as room service to apartment residents at 1600 Glenarm Place.

Today, new life has been infused into this block along the 16th Street Mall. Downtown’s workers and visitors have been quick to discover and take advantage of these newest amenities, and a new group of residents are savoring the Downtown experience in the suave surroundings they can now call “home.”
