DOWNTOWN DENVER PARTNERSHIP HONORS 7 WINNERS AT 45TH ANNUAL DOWNTOWN DENVER AWARDS
 

The Downtown Denver Partnership honored seven award winners on May 16th at the Hyatt Regency Denver at Colorado Convention Center during the 45th Annual Downtown Denver Awards, sponsored by Shughart Thomson & Kilroy, P.C. As a celebration of achievements in the Downtown Denver community, seven winners were selected by a jury from an impressive list of diverse nominees. Over 1,000 individuals attended the 2006 Awards Dinner.

2005 Downtown Denver Annual Awards Winners:

Civil Technology, Inc. : for its vision, responsible entrepreneurship and investment in the improvement of the center city while demonstrating a respect for the history and legacy of the Five Points Neighborhood and stimulating redevelopment.

Comedy Works : for growing a nationally recognized comedy club over a 25-year period that enhances the appeal of Downtown Denver as an entertainment destination, while simultaneously giving back to the community through their charitable donations and special events.

The Denver Convention Center Hotel Authority for the Hyatt Regency Denver : for its success in implementing a critical public investment project by managing the financing, design and construction of the Hyatt Regency Denver at Colorado Convention Center, stimulating economic development, and creating new jobs and revenues.

Ellie Caulkins Opera House : for its innovative design, creating a world-class, technologically advanced and visually stunning opera house, enhancing the cultural vibrancy of Downtown Denver and revitalizing the historic Quigg Newton Denver Municipal Auditorium.

Platte Substation Relocation & Confluence Park Enhancement : for the unprecedented public/private partnership in improving the popular outdoor destination surrounding the convergence of the Platte River and Cherry Creek, completing the final transformation of Confluence Park in Downtown’s Central Platte Valley.

Rockmount Ranch Wear : for sustaining and evolving a family business over six decades into an internationally respected brand of western merchandise, while investing in the renovation of their historic Lower Downtown property with a unique representation of Denver’s history.

Mickey Zeppelin : for his many years of community service to Downtown’s developing neighborhoods and his passion for quality urban design that recognizes the potential of integrating arts, culture, business and residential development.
