Bonnie Gross, Member Relationship Specialist
Bonnie is responsible for maintaining membership retention, including handling member relations, renewal revenue, database management and directing member participation in Partnership activities, initiatives, the Downtown Denver Leadership Program and Downtown Denver Leadership Alumni Association.

Public Affairs, Marketing and Communications Department


Brittany Morris Saunders, Vice President, Public Affairs
Brittany directs public policy, advocacy, government-relations and an array of public/private-sector projects for the Partnership and the Downtown Denver Business Improvement District (BID). She manages relationships with a broad stakeholder group, including the business community, public officials and non-profit organizations, as well as oversees the Marketing and Communications Department. Brittany serves on the Denver Planning Board and is the President-Elect for the University of Colorado at Denver Alumni Board of Directors.

Jenny Starkey, Communications and Media Relations Manager
Jenny manages the Partnership's public relations, communications and messaging, and she acts as a spokesperson for media on topics related to Downtown Denver and the Partnership. She is also responsible for obtaining exposure for the Partnership's policies, events and achievements through media and oversees the research, composition, editing and management of all Partnership communication vehicles, including newsletters, blogs and the Partnership website. Jenny is an active member of the community and sits on the Create Denver Advisory Council as well as the Young Professional Council for Denver Kids, Inc.

Kate is responsible for the production and consistency in messaging, design and branding for all Partnership programs, publications and events. She provides assistance to the marketing and communications group in the planning, organizing and implementing of marketing and communications while promoting policies, achievements and events related to Downtown Denver and the Partnership.

Economic Development Services


Jim Kirchheimer, Senior Vice President of Economic Development
Jim oversees the Partnership’s business retention, expansion and recruitment efforts, as well as its retail recruitment and retention and residential development activities. Jim also manages the Partnership’s Economic Development and Retail Councils and the Downtown Denver Leadership Program, in addition to overseeing the Partnership’s Membership Department. Jim represents the DDP on the LoDo District Board and the Metro Denver EDC’s Professionals Committee.

Brian Phetteplace, Senior Manager of Economic Development
Brian is engaged with Downtown business recruitment, retention and expansion efforts, as well as residential development and retail recruitment and retention efforts. Brian monitors the progress of under-construction and planned/proposed developments, meeting with developers, owners, investors and brokers to ensure the success of their projects. Brian manages the Partnership’s LiveDowntownDenver Council, whose focus is growing Downtown’s residential population. In addition, Brian represents the Partnership on the Golden Triangle Board of Directors.

Downtown Environment


John Desmond, Executive Vice President of Urban Planning & Environment Executive Director of the Business Improvement District
John manages the Downtown Environment department, and is responsible for the Partnership’s public realm, urban planning, transportation, research and sustainability programs. He serves as the Executive Director of the Downtown Denver Business Improvement District, overseeing a $6 million annual budget. John is currently leading efforts to undertake a master plan for Downtown parks and public spaces, enhance the 16th Street Mall, improve the bicycle network in Downtown, convert selected streets from one-way to two-way, and rejuvenate the Arapahoe Square neighborhood. John also serves as Vice-Chair of the Auraria Foundation Board of Directors.

Beth Moyski, Senior Manager for Special Districts
Beth’s primary responsibilities are to serve as the Executive Director for the 14th Street General Improvement District (GID), the Administrative Manager for the Downtown Denver Business Improvement District (BID), and to act as the administrative and outreach lead for Wynkoop Plaza at Denver Union Station. Beth has extensive volunteer experience with the Denver Art Museum and the Young Presidents Organization and has served as a member of the Downtown Denver Partnership’s 16th Street Plan Steering Committee since 2009.

Kathy Luciano, Downtown Environment Assistant
Kathy works on several programs funded by the BID, primarily Mall permitting programs including the Mall banner/poster/flyer program and the sidewalk café program. She also provides support to the Downtown Environment Department by assisting with administrative tasks associated with the BID Board and holiday light program.

Cord Rauba, 16th Street Marketplace Manager
Cord manages Downtown Denver’s Marketplace on the Mall activation strategies on the 16th Street Mall.  Marketplace on the Mall, a partnership between the Business Improvement District and the Downtown Denver Partnership, is designed to maximize the customer experiences on the Mall through vending, sampling and special events activities. In addition to ensuring a unique and diverse mix of quality, local cart and kiosk businesses, Cord facilitates a variety of Mall-wide special events, street fairs, and markets as well as affording opportunities for commercial product introduction and promotions. Working in conjunction with the Mall Use Committee and the Mall Vending Task Force, Cord seeks to achieve a vision to engage all visitors of Downtown Denver by enhancing the variety, scope and activity of Marketplace on the Mall.

Gretchen Crowe, 16th Street Marketplace Coordinator
Gretchen oversees the day to day operation of the 16th Street Mall’s Marketplace on the Mall vending, sampling and special events program. She manages the administrative process offering organizational support to the Marketplace Manager and the vendors on the Mall. Gretchen is responsible for managing the license agreement/permitting process, enforcing policy and organizing special events. She is also responsible for Marketplace on the Mall social media and marketing initiatives to drive success and support to the program’s vendors and special events.

Ryan Sotirakis, Public Realm Design Specialist
Ryan is responsible for providing urban design and streetscape design guidance on a wide variety of projects. He is the lead for reviewing and developing design guidelines for elements in Downtown’s public realm, monitoring and conducting inventories of streetscape amenities, researching streetscape initiatives and assisting with the 16th Street Mall and Arapahoe Square planning processes. He also assists with design review for Downtown projects including new real estate developments and transit projects. Ryan manages the Downtown Denver Garden Block and is active with both the Urban Land Institute Colorado and the American Society of Landscape Architects, where he serves on the national Emerging Professionals Committee.

Susan Fry, BID Operations Manager
Susan manages the operations programs for the Downtown Denver Business Improvement District (BID) to assure that the 120-block BID area is clean, safe and attractive. She oversees the BID maintenance contracts, supervises the Downtown Service Coordinators, works closely with public agencies involved in Downtown operational issues and manages the Downtown Ambassador Program and St. Francis Social Service Outreach Program.

Charlie Hunt, Downtown Service Coordinator
Charlie works with David Ballinger to serve as the eyes and ears of the Partnership/BID on the street, enforcing regulations and working with property owners, outreach workers and ambassadors to ensure Downtown is safe, clean and vibrant. Charlie is the current Chair of the LoDo Rotary Foundation and member of the Rotary District 5450 Peace Corps Alliance Committee, he sits on the Board of Directors for the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless Forum Housing facility, and is an active member of the Golden Triangle Association Good Neighbor Committee and the Returned Peace Corps Volunteers of Colorado Welcome Wagon Action Team.

Aylene McCallum, Senior Manager, Transportation and Research
Aylene plays a lead role in advocating policies and initiatives that improve access to/from/around Downtown Denver, especially for transit, bicycles and pedestrians, and develops programs that incentivize individuals to use sustainable modes of transportation. She oversees the Partnership’s research program, including major reports such as the State of Downtown Denver, as well as the collection and management of other important data concerning to Downtown Denver. She also manages the Partnership’s Urban Exploration program and the Transportation and Development Council. Aylene is a co-chair of the Mayor's Parking Commission and also sits on the Mayor's Bicycle Advisory Committee.

Emily Brett, Downtown Research Coordinator
Emily is responsible for coordinating activities within the Partnership’s research department, including the collection, management and analysis of data concerning Downtown Denver, serving as lead author of the Partnership’s major reports, such as the State of Downtown Denver, Downtown Denver Commuter Survey and other timely reports, as well as acting as the primary point of contact for external requests for information about Downtown Denver.

Aneka Patel, Transportation Outreach Coordinator
Aneka works closely with Downtown Denver employers to implement programs and create marketing materials that incentivize and encourage Downtown Denver employees to use sustainable modes of transportation. She also coordinates the collection of Downtown Denver parking information and manages the dissemination of that information to the general public.

Susan Rogers Kark, Executive Vice President, Events Executive Director Downtown Denver Events
Susan oversees the Partnership’s signature special events, including A Taste of Colorado, 9NEWS Parade of Lights, the Southwest Rink at Skyline Park, New Year’s Eve fireworks, Grand Illumination and Skyline Park events. Her department is also responsible for DDP’s Annual Meeting and the Downtown Denver Annual Awards Dinner. Susan manages Downtown Denver Events, Inc., the Partnership’s public events arm and sits on the board and executive committee of the MetroDenver Sports Commission.

Lorinn C. Rhodes, Event Operations Manager
Lorinn serves as the Partnership’s project manager for the Southwest Rink at Skyline Park, New Year’s Eve Fireworks, and Skyline Park events including Games in the Park and the new Skyline Market. She also assists with operations for Make Music Denver and consults with other event producers to encourage and attract events to Downtown Denver and Skyline Park.

Nneka Johnson, Event Development Manager
Nneka develops and implements funding strategies for events, including the fundraising campaign for the annual Parade of Lights. She also assists with event sponsor fulfillment. She manages the venues and logistics for the Partnership’s business meetings and events and also serves as the Partnership's staff liaison for the Downtown Denver Annual Awards Jury. Nneka sits on the board of Community Shares Colorado.

Jen Wilson-Humphries, Event Operations Specialist
Jen manages Your Keys to the City, an interactive art program featuring pianos placed on the 16th Street Mall for public use. In addition, she coordinates the Downtown Denver Grand Illumination and provides operational support to TubaChristmas. She trains and manages over 100 volunteers for A Taste of Colorado. Jen provides planning, programming and operational support to the Southwest Rink, Make Music Denver and to various Skyline Park events.

Estella oversees the reservations and ticket sales for the Annual Meeting and Downtown Denver Annual Awards Dinner and assists with coordination and marketing for all of the Partnership’s signature special events. Louis Kennedy, Vice President of Finance and Administration
Louis is a member of the executive management team and leads the accounting, finance, human resource, technology and administrative areas for the Partnership. In this role, Louis provides risk management, legal and financial services to each of our related nonprofit entities which include: DDP, DDI, DCV, DDE, DDBID, DTD and the 14th Street GID.

Jody Zatorski, Staff Accountant and HR Assistant
Jody is a staff accountant who assists human resource functions including benefits and payroll. She supports the IT environment including staff and contractor relations and plays key roles in budgeting, insurance, staff training and development. Jody has been instrumental in developing new and improved processes at the Partnership that make operations more efficient.

Renee is a staff accountant who is experienced is all aspects of accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger accounting. She plays key roles in banking relationships, transaction processing, and annual audit preparation. Renee supports startup entities and program development with accounting and financial services similar to those provided to our more established entities.
