In its second year, Denver Startup Week continues to unite the entrepreneurial community in an exciting week of focused sessions, engaging workshops, absorbing happy hours and more.This year you’ll see a new focus on youth involvement, women entrepreneurs, and cultural events in addition to sessions in technology, design, business, manufacturing and sustainability.

We are thrilled to announce that the schedule for Denver Startup Week 2013, which includes over 125 events throughout the week, has been posted and registration is now open! With the exception of Marque events, the week’s events are categorized into four specialized tracks, which include Business, Design, Tech, Manufacturing, and Social Enterprise. Kickoff Luncheon

One event that is sure to be in high demand is the Denver Startup Week Kickoff Luncheon featuring keynote speaker Seth Godin, named the “Ultimate entrepreneur for the information age” by Businessweek. Seth is an author, entrepreneur, blogger, and marketing guru, above all. He has written 14 bestseller books on various topics, including the post-industrial revolution, the ways ideas spread, marketing, quitting, leadership and most of all, changing everything. As an entrepreneur, he’s founded dozens of companies, including his latest internet startup Squidoo.com, ranked among the top 125 sites in the US(by traffic) by Quantcast. Other featured local speakers at the Kickoff Luncheon include:

  • Mayor Michael B. Hancock: Since taking office for the City and County of Denver in 2011, Mayor Hancock has been a significant adovocate for creating a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation.
  • Maddy D’Amato: Maddy is the Founder and Chief Love Officer of Love Grown Foods, a leading natural food company, announced today it has appointed three new advisors as it continues to make a splash in the natural products industry.
  • Bart Lorang: As Co-Founder & CEO of FullContact, Bart is active in the startup technology community as an angel investor, and featured speaker at industry events.
  • Desi McAdam: Desi is the Managing Director of Thoughtbot and has been in the business of building software in one way or another since 2000.
  • Patrick Quinlan: Patrick serves as CEO of Convercent, a cutting-edge technology program that aggregates compliance, risk and governance and promotes internal collaboration.

Denver Startup Basecamp, launched by Chase

This year, Denver Startup Week is proud to announce the newest addition, Denver Startup Basecamp, launched by Chase. Basecamp will serve as the epicenter for the week’s activities. This 3,000 square foot venue will be located in the hear of Downtown on the 16th Street Mall between Larimer and Lawrence Streets in the Tabor Center. Basecamp will be hub for Denver Startup Week community members and throughout the week will host speakers and panelists, media, mentor programming with local and national CEOs and developers, leadership spotlight sessions, live music, volunteers, networking and more. Denver Startup Basecamp, launched by Chase will be open September 16-21 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily.

Tech Cocktail’s Denver Mixer & Startup Showcase

Wear your company t-shirt and help us kick off the second annual Denver Startup Week with an evening of networking and celebration at the newly renovated McNichols Building in Civic Center Park! You can expect to experience startups demoing in a casual expo style, be involved in engaging conversations while listening to local technology all-stars, celebrities and thought leaders. This event is being put on by Tech Cocktail, a media company and events organization that focuses on infusing fun into networking events that may often be considered stale experiences. The idea behind these events is simple; they bring together Denver’s hottest startups, Mix with local tech enthusiasts and serve over cocktails. At the Denver Startup Week 2013 Kickoff Party, attendees will be able to enjoy Colorado beer, wine, spirits and cocktails with 1000 like-minded innovators, entrepreneurs and startup leaders.
