Activate in Downtown Denver

An activated downtown is a thriving downtown, and the Downtown Denver Partnership and Downtown Denver Business Improvement District (BID) invites you to join us in our efforts to offer something for everyone here in Denver’s center city. Whether you’re looking to host a large-scale festival or pop-up event, or if you’re a musician looking to bring your talents to downtown’s public realm through our busking program, we hope you’ll consider Downtown Denver for your next activation or event.

Available Spaces

The Downtown Denver Partnership and Downtown Denver BID permit several spaces, including Denver’s iconic 16th Street Mall. Learn more about space-specific requirements below.

16th Street Mall downtown denver

16th Street Mall

The 16th Street Mall is a premier destination in Downtown Denver for visitors, employees, and residents alike. It is the commercial heart of Denver’s center city, which makes it a perfect place to host your special event or sampling activity. With millions of visitors each year, the 16th Street Mall is a powerful venue to promote your business, cause or activity.

Wynkoop Plaza

Wynkoop Plaza at Denver Union Station features approximately 30,000 square feet of public space just outside the doors of Denver’s multi-modal transit hub featuring vibrant restaurants and retail.

Skyline Park

The Downtown Denver Partnership also manages Skyline Park, located along Arapahoe Street before 15th and 17th Streets. The requirements for Skyline Park differ from the other spaces. The Outer Space

The Outer Space @ 16th and Welton is a privately managed pop up park located in the heart of downtown Denver, adjacent to the iconic 16th Street Mall. The space features food vendors, a stage, tables and chairs, and is ready for activation. The Outer Space follows the same requirements and fee schedule as the 16th Street Mall.

Busking in Downtown Denver

Calling all performers! Bring your talents to Downtown Denver’s energetic 16th Street Mall! We welcome groups of five people or less to perform on 16th Street, free of charge. We do however, require a free permit. If you’re a group of five or more musicians, please see the event application for 16th Street above.  Click here to review our busking code of conduct.

Film & Photography

Let Downtown Denver be your backdrop! Whether you’re filming a commercial, shooting brand photography, or planning your next feature film, we’re here to help you secure the permits you need. If five or fewer individuals are involved in filming/photography, no permit is required. If greater than five individuals are involved, a permit is required
