The Downtown Denver Partnership has co-founded and leads several programs and initiatives to foster a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship in our center city, including:
Denver Startup Week
The Downtown Denver Partnership co-founded Denver Startup Week (DSW) in 2012, and it is now the largest free entrepreneurial event of its kind in North America. Built by the community for the community, Denver Startup Week is a celebration of everything entrepreneurial in Denver, and is the largest free event of its kind. The Downtown Denver Partnership co-founded The Commons on Champa in 2015 to provide resources, inspiration and meeting spaces for Denver’s diverse community of entrepreneurs. The Partnership leads a series of signature programs at The Commons, with support from the Kauffman Foundation, to provide personal conversations, meaningful mentorship, and business education at a low- or no-cost to grow an authentic, community-based platform to help business start and grow.
The City of Denver Department of Economic Development and Opportunity and the Downtown Denver Partnership have teamed up to activate storefronts on Denver’s most prominent commercial district: the 16th Street Mall. Based on Round 1 pilot stage findings in 2022, the second program round expands on and enhances the original program design, including five (5) newly activated spaces in Upper Downtown.
