Downtown Denver Leadership Program

You don’t lead by pointing and telling people some place to go. You lead by going to that place and making a case.

ABOUT THE 2023 CLASS PROJECT: Exploring an Open Streets Culture in Denver: Activating and Placemaking Each year the Downtown Denver Leadership Program class collaborates to unravel the complexities of city-building by tackling a project that is relevant to the work of the Downtown Denver Partnership. Success is never assured but understanding the dynamic challenges and opportunities of building a city, is. The 2023 Class Project will challenge participants to work alongside public and private partners to transform the public right of way for a series of Open Streets events starting in the spring. Users will bike, walk, roll, jog, stroll, scoot or linger at placemaking installations within the Open Streets activation (a 3+ mile street closure). Participants will focus on ensuring that these activations are engaging, accessible to all, inclusive to everyone, free of charge, and entertaining!
