Governor Polis Releases State Budget Proposal for FY 2021-22

November 3, 2020

2020 has been a pivotal year for our community, illustrating both shortcomings and areas of opportunity for our state. As we use this time to innovate, rethink, and rise to meet these challenges, the financial decisions our state makes over the course of the next year is critical. Yesterday morning, Governor Polis released a budget proposal for the State of Colorado for fiscal year (FY) 2021-22.  The budget includes the following key elements:

  • Restoring major reductions made to key areas in FY 2020-21 and ensuring essential services across government;
  • Economic stimulus that will bridge the gap to recovery and help Colorado build back stronger; and
  • Saving for the future.

The Governor will present his budget to the Joint Budget Committee on November 12.
