About the event
Join us for a walking tour through the streets, alleys, and hidden corners that tell the real story of queer Denver, dating all the way back to the 1880s. Led by David Duffield, historian with The Center on Colfax for the Colorado LGBTQ History Project, and presented in partnership with Historic Denver and Lavender Hill Cultural District, we'll be making our way through downtown, covering history you won't find in a textbook.
Along the way, we'll uncover some of Denver's most fascinating and forgotten LGBTQ+ stories. From drag performers packing Curtis Street to the hotels and alleyways where queer Denver quietly — and boldly — came to life. This tour is equal parts history lesson and celebration. Come ready to laugh, learn, and leave with a whole new appreciation for the city you call home.
Wrap up the evening with an optional happy hour at Olive & Finch Union Station from 5:30–6pm.
