Street Outreach
About the Downtown Denver BID Outreach Program
Safety and public health remain at the forefront of the Partnership's agenda, which is why we continue to invest in efforts to provide assistance and resources to individuals experiencing homelessness in Downtown Denver.
Since 2023, the Downtown Denver Business Improvement District, in collaboration with the Partnership, has employed two full-time street outreach caseworkers funded by the grant, Caring for Denver. These specialized caseworkers are dedicated to making direct connections within our community and work on the ground with individuals experiencing homelessness or difficulties, offering immediate assistance and resource navigation.
Our Outreach Caseworkers provide connections to essential resources including temporary housing options, access to appropriate shelters for both individuals and families, provide assistance obtaining transportation through bus passes, pet accommodation arrangements, and referrals to medical and mental health services, among other things.
By implementing street outreach services, we're actively assisting individuals in challenging situations while enhancing the safety and vitality of our downtown environment. This approach reflects our commitment to maintaining a downtown that is truly for everyone.
