Downtown Denver Rings in 2026 with Record-Breaking New Year’s Eve Attendance

For more than two decades, the Downtown Denver Partnership and the Downtown Denver Business Improvement District has welcomed the new year with robust firework shows, drawing tens of thousands of people to our center city.

We’re thrilled to announce that New Year's Eve 2025 brought more than 330,000 total visits to Downtown Denver (a 12% increase from 2024), with approximately 260,000 visits during the celebration itself, a 15% increase from 2024.

Additionally, New Year’s Eve 2025 showed strong activity along the now fully opened 16th Street, with nearly 40,000 total visits between 8 p.m. and midnight - a 50% year-over-year increase.

2025 attendance numbers surpassed 2019 pre-pandemic benchmarks for New Year’s Eve:

All-Day Downtown Denver Foot Traffic on December 31:

  • 2019: 305,000 visits

  • 2025: 334,000 visits

Downtown Denver Foot Traffic from 8 p.m. to 11:59 p.m.:

  • 2019: 196,000 visits

  • 2025: 258,000 visits

The New Year’s Eve fireworks celebration, which is co-sponsored by Visit Denver and the Downtown Denver Business Improvement District, was Downtown Denver’s highest-attended event of 2025, following the Downtown Denver Partnership’s Parade of Lights and surpassing the Fourth of July celebrations.
